Grand Junction

We had a great tour of CMU today. I really enjoyed the campus.

CMU trip

We had the opportunity to take Ben out to Grand Junction this weekend. We drove out last night after swim practice. This morning Ben go to sit in on a choir class (he even got to sing). After choir class we grabbed lunch and then walked around campus and looked at things and looked for the pool. This evening we went to an award ceremony for those who had been offered academic scholarships. So proud of Ben and all his hard work!

King of the mountain

It snowed a couple weeks back. We built a sledding hill in the back yard for the kids to sled 🛷 on. Most of the snow has melted. But not the sledding hill.  Copper has claimed the snow hill as his. He loves to sit on it, jump off it, lay on it, jump over it...

• Mom to Ben - So how are you going to get rich - Brooklyn - I’m going to marry someone rich... were you talking to me? Cause that’s how I’m gonna get rich
• Brooklyn about Savannah - ground her for life! Ground her for life! Ground her for life!
• Brooklyn about getting taller - then I would be all gangly and look like spaghetti - and I don’t want to look like spaghetti 
• Spencer trying to talk Spanish - five, blah blah bla , five
• Myra talking to Spencer - I have to follow the rules. My name starts with an m so I have to say maybe. If my name started with a y then I could say yes

Sunday Study

Each Sunday we start our day off with family study. Today’s lesson was on rejoicing in Christ. One scripture from our study was :

2 Nephi 24:3

3 And it shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall give thee rest, from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve.

Church Basketball

It’s church ball season. Ben had a game this morning. The teams were not very equal... It was pretty cool to see the boys play “easy” on the other team to keep it closer. And then at half time Ben and another boy switched to the other team to make things closer. The boys were all great sports!

Silly puppy

Our puppy sure is silly. I’m so glad we got him. I wish we would have gotten a dog a long time ago. He is work (a lot sometimes) but he brings so much joy and laughter to the house.

Busy Myra

Myra kept us busy last night. All the kids keep us busy, and we often have to split time between kids... but last night we had to split time with Myra... with Myra. Myra had the opportunity last night to sing the National Anthem with the school’s choir at a girls basketball game for the Air Force Academy (on the Air Force Academy). We knew this was happing and planned for it... only to have Myra come home from school and tell us that they rescheduled her cheerleading performance at Vista Ridge High school half time basketball game that was suppose to be the week before (and was cancelled because of snow) for last night as well!
So we ran Myra up to the Air Force Academy were she sang before the game started... then we grabbed her and ran back to the high school so she could perform in the half time show there with Cheer! Fun, fun night. We paid to go to two different basketball games, and watched maybe ten mins of them 😝 Gotta love kids!  

Silly dog

Copper LOVES to chew on things. Thankfully he doesn’t chew on too many things he shouldn’t...
He likes to collect things from the yard. And then he tries to “sneak” them in to the house.

Puppy?

When we were looking at getting a dog I wanted a little one... One that would stay little...  I thought that’s what we were getting... I’m not so sure now!

My kids say FUNNY stuff. I try to write it down often. Here’s a few of them...

• Cat about grandma Penny turning 29 - how can grandma be 29 when you are 38? Oh wait, I know. She must have hit 100 and started over
• Myra after going in circles - thank you , thank you tony.  You saved us. Thank you tony
• Cat after asking dad for ice cream for dinner - dad you always say yes. Don't fail me now
• Spencer- I had a bad dream that a princess had come to cut my head off 
• Spencer about junior - not the dad Josh, the plain Josh... our big brother
• Myra to Brooklyn - Ok. Take a picture of me now. Please hurry cause I'm scared
• Myra about wallabies- oh look Brooklyn there's a mirror. I like how wallabies care about their beauty too
• Spencer to mom - can you get me one too? My names Spencer

Engagement Day!

Today Josh planned a wonderful day. We headed out to Cripple Creek to see their ice festival. The ice sculptures were amazing! How does someone discover that they have a talent for sculpting ice? The weather was great, the food was fantastic, and the company was wonderful! Thanks Josh for a great day!

Valentines day

Pizza and movie night with the four youngest kids for Valentines Day. They thought we needed to do make your own pizzas... Happy Valentines Day!

Poor puppy

Copper has hit the teenage years... they’re not the funnest. Today he got to have a little surgery that will hopefully help with those teenage doggie actions we don’t care for 😂
Along with surgery we had a microchip put him, so we can find him if he gets lost. The vet also cleaned the ear hair out of his ears. And discovered he still has a double ear infection. If the meds don’t work this time we will have to take him to a specialist to see if our hypoallergenic dog has allergies 😣
