Field Trip

Class Picture

Savannah had her first field trip today.  I was lucky enough to be able to go with her.  We went to the pumpkin patch!  The kids got to see many different animals, and they ended their trip with being able to pick out their own pumpkin to keep.  That was a fun process.  Because the main rule was that THEY had to be able to carry it.  Savannah went through a few pumpkins trying to find the right one.  One that was not too heavy.  Savannah's partner for the day picked a slightly bigger pumpkin, that was a little on the heavy side.  She struggled many times because she was tired.  Savannah was sweet heart and offered to carry her pumpkin for her, and let her carry Savannah's pumpkin, so her friend could rest!  So sweet!  It was a fun experience and the weather even cooperated!!!
This is not the one
she ended up with
It was too heavy!
This pumpkin did come home!

An Oink-oink there...

How do I go about getting that baby back???

That was the question I asked the nurse about this time 12 years ago.  I wanted to have my brand new baby boy back to hold and cuddle!  It has been a wonderful 12 years.  I can't believe how fast they have gone.  I also can't believe what a wonderful YOUNG man Josh Jr is.  Even today he did MANY things to help out around the house.  He is a great example to his younger brother and sisters.  And we are so lucky to have him in our family.  I look forward to the years to come, getting to know our son as he grows in to a great adult!  Love you Josh Jr.!!!

Gas (for the car)

Last week I was suppose to meet Josh to get our passports.  And I was running late.  And wouldn't you know it, the gas light came on!  This shouldn't have surprised me, I knew I was low on gas when I was out trying to escape from the car dealer ship the day before :)  But at that point I just wanted to get home and figured I would just get gas the next day.  So here I was running late to meet Josh and my gas light came on.  And I really didn't have time to stop to get gas!  And I had to drive a LONG way to get to the different places I had to go (OK not really a long way, but a lot longer than I normally drive around town).  But I really didn't have time to stop to get gas.  That is when I started to pray that I wouldn't run out of gas.  And also wondering HOW many miles my car could go with the gas light on.  I made it to the health department (to get my Birth Certificate) and the to the Passport Agency.  When I was getting ready to leave, I asked Josh how many gallons of gas should be left in the car once the light came on.  His answer reassured me that I should make it home...  OK to a gas station.  But I didn't want ANY gas station.  I wanted to go to King Soopers for my gas.  I had 30 cents off per gallon that would expire the next day that I wanted to use.  Thankfully I was able to make it to the gas station.  And in case you are wondering, I went 25 miles (at least) with the gas light on!

Catalina fell the other day while trying to open the van door.  She scraped up her back on one of the bikes.  When we got home later that day she asked me to take a picture of it, because she couldn't see it :)

What did Mindy want?

Our friend Mindy called this evening to ask me a question.  When I got off the phone Josh asked "What did Mindy want?"  My answer...  "To know if wanted to buy a cow."

And I left it at that...  Josh chuckled, and then said...  "No, really what did she want?"  And I said...  "To know if we want to buy a cow.  It's only about $900." (I had miss understood, it was really about $1,150).  Needless to say Josh and I laughed for a little while.  But Mindy was serious.  Her extended family buys a cow every year and have it butchered.  They don't have to deal with any of that hassle, they just have to go pick up the meat when it is ready...  about 500 pounds of meat...  For $1150!  Which sounds like a lot of money (OK it IS a lot of money), but when you do the math that is really a good price.  And the meat is hormone free and very lean.  Which makes it a REALLY good deal!  But there is NO way our family of 8 could eat a whole cow our selves :)  So we just need to find about for other families that would want to go in on buying a cow :)

Too Funny!

Josh has a cousin that post hilarious things all the time on Facebook.  They almost always make me laugh out loud.  Today he posted one that I had to share with Josh...  However Josh was not in the same room as me, so I had to talk "loud" so he could hear me in the other room.  Here is the post Josh's cousin posted...

The Farm

A dying grandmother tells her granddaughter, "I want to leave you my farm. That includes the villa, the tractor, and other equipment, the farmhouse and $22,398,750.78 in cash."  The granddaughter, absolutely floored and about to become rich, says, "Oh Granny, you are SO generous! I didn't even know you had a farm. Where is it?"...

With her last breath, Granny whispered,

"Facebook..."

So funny!  To make things even funnier, my almost 10 year old Ben stated to me... "But she doesn't even know her login and password!"

Love him!
