With COVID 19 the seniors this year will have a much different end to their senior year. Someone started a group on Facebook to adopt a senior. Seniors get put up for “adoption “ and someone adopt the senior and then do nice things for them. We decided to put Ben up for “adoption “ a few days ago. Josh jr and his four roommates (who all graduated themselves only two years ago) wanted to adopt Ben. Today they brought over their gift for him... an X Box One!

With Elearning we are often sending pictures of work to different teachers. After emailing the elementary school’s PE teacher for Spencer she emailed me back this...

Week 7
Spencer struggled a little today during church. It’s hard to be 7 and to sit still for so long. Maybe he needed a little nap.
Here is a a quote from President Russel M. Nelson from Nov 2013 talk “Decisions for Eternity”.
“ We can change our behavior. Our very desires can change. How? There is only one way. True change—permanent change—can come only through the healing, cleansing, and enabling power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. He loves you—each of you! He allows you to access His power as you keep His commandments, eagerly, earnestly, and exactly. It is that simple and certain. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a gospel of change!”

Spencer’s school work
For art Spencer did shadow drawings. He had to trace the shadow an object gave off.
For music Spencer had to listen to a song and then write three sentences about it (his least favorite thing). I’m not sure why the song made him sad 😝

Funny dog
This dog LOVES to pick on people. He won’t come in after he scratches. He usually runs off and wants you to chase him. He brings his rope and lays it on my feet so I can “drag” him around by it (with my feet). And perhaps the funniest is that he (almost) always steals Josh’s seat from him. Sometimes right before he sits down (the picture looks like he’s been laying there for awhile, but he jumped up as Josh was about to sit).

Social distancing
When you don’t have school, or church, or even the ability to go “hang out”, you have to come up with ways to see your best friend. I’m grateful for the opportunity Brooklyn has to visit today with her friend.

Spoiled much?
This dog LOVES to be cuddled with. I think he thinks he’s a human. Oh and if you start to rub his belly, you had better not stop 😂

6th Sunday
Today was our 6th Sunday of church at home. It’s hard to believe that it has already been 6 weeks. This week Savannah, Ben and I have talks. My talk was from a recent General Conference talk by Elder John A. McCune titled “Come unto Christ - Living as a Latter-day Saint”. Here’s a link if you’d like to read the original talk

Here is a scripture from our family study as well
Mosiah 3:8
8 And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning; and his mother shall be called Mary.

Prom
Today was suppose to be prom for Ben and Brooklyn. Sadly because of COVID 19 they didn’t get to have a prom. Ben’s friend plans to host one for him and his friends if we ever get to have more than 10 people gathered together again. Since there was no prom tonight, and no pictures, I thought I’d post pictures from last years prom.

Spencer’s PE
For PE we had to send Spencer’s teacher some pictures or a video of him working out. Here’s his pictures.
By the way he was dressed as rumpelstiltskin for school today to celebrate the end of their fairytale unit.

Ben???
We read scriptures together (almost) every morning. We were doing this before the whole “lock down” pandemic. Josh and I quickly decided that we need to still be consistent with doing it, even if kids don’t have to “leave” for school. The high schoolers think it’s too early most days (even though we moved it an hour later). A lot of days Ben is buried in his blanket. This morning the dog decided to join him under the blanket.

A Boy and His Dog
I’m not sure who is more excited when Ben gets home from work or up in the morning. The excitement is so high! Copper loves his people. And the people love their puppy!

School projects
For Myra’s art project last week she had to draw a person, but cut out the clothes portion. They then had to take pictures of the person on different backgrounds to “create” outfits for it. MJ has so much fun doing this... well after she finally drew the picture 😂
MJ has to record herself doing different exercises for PE

Easter Sunday
We had a wonderful Easter today. Josh jr was able to come spend day with us. We had a great family study, followed by sacrament and a Sunday school lesson. We also had an Easter egg hunt as well 🐣
Here is a scripture from our study this week.
2 Nephi 9:10-11
10 O how great the goodness of our God, who prepareth a way for our escape from the grasp of this awful monster; yea, that monster, death and hell, which I call the death of the body, and also the death of the spirit.
11 And because of the way of deliverance of our God, the Holy One of Israel, this death, of which I have spoken, which is the temporal, shall deliver up its dead; which death is the grave.
