My Day!

How do you spend your day???  I spend mine chasing a 17 month old, who has no fear!!!  The pictures don't do it justice, but I don't know how to load videos to my blog...  Josh will have to do it for me some other time...

I think that Myra thinks if she smiles cute she wont get in trouble!  She's mostly right :)

Hide and go seek

We play hide and go seek in the dark as a family...  And we have played it a few times in the last couple weeks...  Apparently Myra has decided that she likes this game...  The last couple days Myra has taken to "hiding" in the pantry or cupboards...  She giggles when you "find" her.  Especially when you state that you "found" her.  So cute!!!

***  Had other pictures to add, but Blogger wasn't working right tonight :( ***

Memories day two

Not the same shirt,
but it was red then too

I thought I would share another memory...  This memory was sparked by the outfit I put on Myra today...  This memory goes back MANY years too.  Back to when I only had one small, little boy...  I was pregnant with Ben at the time, but we had yet to tell anyone...  I went on a road trip with Josh's mom out to Utah.  Josh's younger brother was in the MTC, and we went out to see him when he flew out to France...  We went out early, and went up to Logan to see Josh's grandparents.  It was there, while wearing the overalls that Myra had on today, that Josh jr. played with his grandma, and great grandma...  And some how during this time a Lego that he was playing with ended up in the front pocket on the overalls...  I didn't find it for several weeks (the pocket velcroed shut)...  But deep inside this pocket was a little white Lego...  Every time I put this outfit on Myra I remember back to Josh jr. wearing it at his great grandmas!

Memories

We had the oppertunity to go to our friends ward today for church.  They were blessing thier baby, and it was fun to be able to go and support them...  Their ward, however, was the first ward Josh and I were in as a new married couple...  We were in that ward, meeting in that building so long ago...  It has been 11 and 1/2 years since we were in that ward, but it was amazing to see so many familiar faces.  Crazy that so much time could go by, but somethings will stay the same...

The drive home from church brought back other memories for me as well...  I always think that I should write down some of my "pre" kids experiences, but usually so much happens each day that I want to catch the funny stuff...  And the nights when I can't think of anything to share from the day, are usually the nights when I am too tired to think of old memories...  So I thought I'd write down the memory from our drive home today NOW, while it was fresh on my mind...

This memory goes back to before I had kids...  It is even before I knew Josh (but right around the time we met)...  I was in town doing an internship with AMR to finish up my Paramedic degree...  I was working 55 hours a week for free...  Actually I was paying AMR $75 a week to work for them!!!  It was a mild afternoon (don't remember what day of the week it was...) and the crew I was working with went on a call to a house up off a Constitution, west of powers, but east of Murry...  The house was up in the "hills" and off any main street...  I don't remember what was wrong with the lady, but nothing too serious, but we did transport her, because I remember we had to come out to the ambulance to get the cot...  For some reason we left the back of the ambulance open (probably because we thought we'd be right back with the patient, but still a bad idea)...  For some reason we had to come back out to the ambulance again to get something (I don't remember what)...  And much to our surprise we found a curious deer was investigating the back of the ambulance...  It had his front half of his body IN the ambulance!!!  Luckily the deer scared easily, and jumped out (not in) of the ambulance, and ran off...  But every time I drive past that stretch of road I remember that experience!

Christmas!

It is done!  The inside of the house is decorated!  Yay!!!  It's a little sad though, because I didn't put up my town set this year.  I think it is maybe the first time in our marriage that I haven't done it...  But Myra climbs so high and so fast that I don't want to take the chance.  She has already driven us crazy with climbing to get what we did put out!  And her cute little smile that she gives you when she does something wrong make it hard to get mad...  I have to say though that it was nice to not have to spend the time on putting the town set up :)

Movie night

Five of our six kids are gone tonight... They are spending the night at their cousins. Josh and I had planned on planning games with my brother and his wife, but that did not work out (Josh doesn't feel the best today). So this evening Josh and I are watching a movie in a quiet house (now that we have put Myra in bed), with out kids...

Pie anyone?

My brother-in-law and his wife had a great idea (they have lots I'm sure, but we got to enjoy this one). They realized that most people don't really enjoy pie on Thanksgiving, because they have eaten too much other yummy food... So they decided to have a party this evening for desserts. Everyone was suppose to bring a dessert to share, and play some games... It was a lot of fun... They even had prizes for some of the games. Thanks Jordan and Erin for a great might!!! Now we'll see how long it takes for our slap happy baby, that is high on chocolate, to go to sleep...

Savannah has finally lost her first tooth (OK her first tooth that came out on it's own)...  She was so excited to have a loose tooth, and to loose it.  Sadly she really LOST the tooth before she could even put it under
her pillow.  Her sweet
brother Josh, searched the hallway until he found the tooth***.

I'm a big kid now!

Myra, Myra, Myra... She is a big kid now! I don't know how many times in the last week she has thrown a fit because I won't let her feed herself... At least a dozen tonight alone... She will not let you feed her! She can do it herself! Even if it means she doesn't eat... She would rather be hungry than let me feed her... This evening during dinner she wanted to sit on my lap to eat, but I was not to touch her food... She was JUST fine ALL on her own... The days are getting longer :)

Cat's point of view

It has been a little while since I have done a Catalina picture blog.  There are some great new pictures to add.  She has been one busy girl!

I will give you something

That was Catalina's answer to Josh asking WHY he should come to her room.  We had already sent kids to bed...  After the normal bedtime routine of prayers, scriptures, snack, brushing of teeth, hugs and kisses...  Catalina could not have been in her bed for more than three or four minuets when she was calling for Josh to come into her room.  The reason ~  She wanted another hug!  When Josh asked her why he should come she replied "I will give you something!"  When Josh asked her what that something was, her answer was "A penny!"  To cute!!!

Myra!

At 17 months (that's right 17 months!!!), Myra is one fast baby!!!  The other night while we were hanging out instead of sleeping (She still does NOT sleep through the night!!!) she ran out of the room and off to her sister's bedroom, where she tried to wake them up...  I brought her back to our favorite hang out (the office) and she was off again to wake up her sisters... Crazy kid!  Today when her grandma was watching her (so I could go see a movie!!!), she took her partner in crime on a trip to play in the bathroom (and of course toilet)!!!  You turn your back on her and she has climbed yet again!  It doesn't matter what it is, she WILL climb it!  Tonight she didn't want to eat dinner (or so I thought).  Actually she just wanted to feed herself!  And she was not going to eat until I let her feed herself!  Myra is often "coloring" on something...  Unfortunately it is sometimes the walls!!!  But even with all the messes she makes, she is way too cute!  And she knows it too!  She loves to "smile" for the camera now!  I am so lucky to have such great kids.  And we are so blessed to have Myra in our family!!!

*Myra still has blue eyes, and red hair!!!*

Pumpkin Seeds

I love toasted pumpkin seeds. In fact they are the reason I will caver pumpkins... We didn't do pumpkins this year... I thought about getting pumpkins for the seeds (and you know letting the kids carve them) but I didn't... Last night I had to run to the store to grab something for Brooklyn and came across a 18 oz bag of pumpkin seeds for $5. I spoiled myself and bought them... But then thinking about it after I got home, and after doing the math, it really was a good deal! To get as many seeds as I got I would have had to buy 4 or 5 pumpkins (at least)! And at $4 each I would have had spent over $16 to get as many seeeds as I did! I don't know if I will ever buy pumpkins again.

***Might not want to read ***

I have thrown up many times (some in the last few days), and I have been thrown up on way too many times.  But last night gave new meaning to blowing chunks!!!  I wasn't surprised that Savannah got sick, I was just surprised at HOW sick she got!!!  Since it was the middle of the night (OK it was only midnight, and I wasn't in bed yet), Savannah was sleeping in her bed...  The top bunk...  I'm not sure what really happened, because she was mostly done by the time I got there... I just saw the after math...  It looked like a war zone!  How could one little girl get puke EVERYWHERE!!!  And I mean everywhere!!!

I walked in to Savannah crying, Brooklyn quickly jumping ship (she was sleeping RIGHT next to Savannah), and Catalina was screaming "You throw up on me!!!  You throw up on me!!!  Mom! Vannah throw up on me!!!"  She was not happy!  I was not happy...  No one was happy :(

After a warm shower for two icky kids (so surprised that Brooklyn escaped with out any on her), they were laid down in the family room on clean blankets so I could de-puke their bedroom.  I am so thankful that Brooklyn was there to take care of Myra (who was woke by the yelling of "you throw up on me!").  Poor thing had a hard time getting up for school today.

An hour and a half later the room was as clean as I could get it in the middle of the night.  Several loads of laundry done... Several more to go...  I am seriously thinking that hiring someone to come clean that room would be a cheap investment...  OK, I'm  not, but I do need to find a carpet cleaner...

New Show

Having spent a **few** nights up with a little girl, add on not felt the best the last couple days and you have me looking for something to watch.  I saw a commercial for the new ABC show Once Upon A Time.  So with nothing to watch in the wee hours of the night...  And needing something to keep me awake I watched the first episode...  And it is really cute!

Sick, sick, and more sick

I've said it before and I am sure I will say it again... Parents should not be able to get sick!!! I guess if I am going to be sick I should at least be thankful for the fact that it hit last night/today instead of tomorrow since Josh will be out of town tomorrow. I should also be thankful for the fact that it seems to be a pretty fast moving bug. But I really hate being sick. It doesn't help when the kids start in on the sicknes too... As of this time 5 of the 8 Case family members have gotten this wonderful bug! Unless Brooklyn's "fever" from the other day was a mild version... I just hope that Josh will avoid this whole bug. Traveling while sick would not be fun! Thank you Josh for taking care of all of us!!!

They really want...

About 6 weeks ago I blogged a letter to the car dealer (I am blogging on the iPad or I would link it for you). After the dealer sent me an email and called, I decided to print it off to actually mail the letter to the dealer... Only to discover that we were out of envelopes... I finally remembered to buy more envelops, but I did not mail it, even though at this point I had gotten another phone call from the dealer and another email...

Today I actually answered the phone when the dealer called... And I actually told the lady ALL the things they did wrong and that we would not be using them again... She quickly apologized and asked if she could talk to her manager and call me back...

I am a little sorry that I didn't get to the phone when she called me back, because this lady was very nice... The voice message she left me basicllly said that the dealer would give me at least $17,500 for my car, and they promised I would not have to work with Tony again... I guess they really want my car!

Family Pictures

Over fall break we did family pictures.  My sister took them at Garden Of The Gods.  It was a beautiful day, and the pictures turned out great!  Here are a couple of them.  Enjoy!

Nap? What nap?

I laid Myra down for her nap after I got home from taking Catalina to school.  We had only been home from dropping Cat off for maybe 20 minutes when the phone rang...  Brooklyn was "sick" and had a temp of a 100.4 and had to go home!!!  Why do my kids ALWAYS get "sick" and have to come home when I have a sleeping baby???  I really didn't want to have to wake up Myra (she had only been a sleep a few minutes... or so I thought), and tried to make arrangements for Josh or someone else to pick Brooklyn up...  And that is when I heard Myra's toy start to make noise...  And I could tell that Myra was not really sleeping...  I went in to get Myra and found her playing in her bed.  When she saw me she started to bounce around.  She then turned on more music and got up to dance!  So cute!!!

Is it really worth the risk???

Josh and I do not have cable, or Dish, or Direct TV.  We have Netflix on demand (which we love), and we catch current shows on the network after they are released (which is getting harder and harder).  Netflix does not play commercials during their shows, but the networks do...  Last night while watching a show on CBS a commercial played for a new drug to treat Psoriasis.  The commercial for the drug is a little concerning to me...

To start  with, this "new" drug only has a 70%  rate for actually working... But then you throw in the possible side affects and I start to wonder WHY!  Why would you even try this medication.  We are not talking about some horrific life threatening illness.  Psoriasis.  Now I get that I don't really understand all the complication to having Psoriasis, but really?  I still think the risks are not worth it.  Here are a couple of the possible side effects/complications you could have from taking this medication (besides the normal upset stomach and diarrhea)...

Infection ~ an infection that could be SO bad that you would have to be hospitalized
Tuberculosis
Nervous system problems
Blood problems~ A fever that does not go away, bleeding easily
Heart Failure
Liver problems
Immune reactions including lupus-like syndrome
CANCER

Really!  It could cause cancer!  And best of all...  It also list as a possible side effect of this medication...  It can cause psoriasis or make your psoriasis  actually get worse!!!???  I just don't understand!  HOW? WHY? WHAT?  REALLY???  Why would someone even think of taking this medication?  And how in the world did it ever get approved???

More Catalina outtakes

Catalina is too funny!  She has been at it again.  Here are a couple more outtakes from her quick wit!

This last Sunday the older kids, Josh and I were fasting.  Catalina decided that she was going to fast too...  So she started to run from one side of our house to the other as fast as she could...  She was "fasting"!  :)

We have been playing "Slug Bugs" as we drive as a family...  The other day as I was Catalina in to preschool I called a "blue Slug Bug".  She asked were...  She was standing right next to it...  I pointed it out to her, and she asked... :The car"?  :)  I answered yes as we continued walking into school...  Shortly after we passed another "blue" car.  Catalina quickly shouted "Blue Slug Bug!"  Guess we still need to work on it with her :)

I went shopping the other day with Catalina and Myra...  I ended up buying a Christmas present for one of Cat's siblings.  It's kind of big and hard to hide...  So it is kind of in plain sight, just covered up.  A few days a go the child the gift is for asked me what it was in front of Cat...  Catalina quickly answered... "Its' for you!  It's a --------!"  Mental note...  No more shopping for Christmas presents with Catalina :)

Yesterday Catalina decided to call Myra by a different name...  I wish I could remember it...  It was something that started with a Qu...  When we asked Catalina what she was saying she said it was Myra's name in Spanish!!!  :)

Ben 10

That's right Ben is 10! I can't hardly believe it. It seems like it was just yesterday that he was running around dressed as Batman trying to "fly"! I must say that I am pleasantly surprised to say that Ben has only had 1 broken arm in all of his "flying" around :) Ben is a fantastic 10 year old. He loves life. He loves to be happy, and he loves to make other happy. He is a great kid, and we are so lucky to have him in our family. Happy Birthday Ben!!! We love you!

It is done

Tonight was the last of the big family birthday parties. It is done. We have a whole seven months off before the birthday begin again. Yay!!! I love each and everyone of my kids, but by the time we reach Ben's birthday I am ready for the parties to be done. Thanks to all our family who have come and supported our kids on their birthdays! We appreciate each and everyone of you! Now excuse me, I think I am going to go unwind and watch a movie with Josh. Goodnight!

Funny Catalina

Catalina has said some funny things lately that I haven't taken the time to blog (and have forgotten), so I thought I would share them tonight...

The other day during a bath... "You remember the other time when we stayed at that hotel and I drowned???  Ya that was not fun."

During dinner one night...  "I can't eat this.  It tastes like Myra germs."

She makes me laugh even when she is being serious!  Love her

Not you too!

You just thought
 I was napping mom :)

Naps are for little babies...
Clearly I do not need a nap
Last fall (September 2010) I wrote about a couple of days of a crazy Catalina...  It would appear that Myra was closely watching her sister, and thinks that that is what a little girls should do...  Myra has definitely kept me on my toes today...  Not to mention that she had me up in the night for an hour or so, so I am a little short on sleep today...  Here a just a few of the many things she has been up to today.  I missed the pictures of her climbing on the computer desk (moving the chair so she could have something to climb up on), Pulling books off the bookshelf (just for fun), and emptying two baskets of papers onto the floor...  Oh wait I forgot she climbed up the bookcase to reach breakable things, and while I was writing this she tried to get in to the cabinet with more breakable things!  Got to love her!
Instead of napping
I think I will play!
Maybe I will nap on
Savannah's bed...
No, I will just climb up onto it
3 or 4 times...
I'm not sure you have the pantry
organized quite right...
Soup should go
 in the family room
Lets see what else
we can move around...

Kleenex anyone???

Before I could finish this blog Myra thought she would help me out with a couple more pictures...
You said to throw the
 papers around again right mom?
Notice the chair
 behind the papers...
Ben had to move it away
from the computer
to keep her off the computer table!
