Makeup Post 8-8-13
I started taking a new class on the 29th of July. Part of this class we have to teach others in some form. Posting what we learned on our blog is one way we can do it… So here are my notes from my class assignment. The assignment was on the scriptures Matthew 14:22-33. It was fun reading the scriptures, and then learning as I sought out the answers to the questions. Enjoy!
Unit 1 Choice 3
Matthew 14:22-33 Walking on the Sea
1. The Apostles were afraid when they first saw Jesus on the water and though he was a spirit.
2. Peter’s response indicated that he had faith in Jesus that he would be able to do that which the Lord had called on him to do.
3. Peter began to sink because he was afraid.
4. Peter called out to Jesus to save him. Jesus IMMEDIATELY saved Peter.
5. Peter had the faith that he would be able to walk on water because he was focused on the Savior and what he would have him do. When the winds changed his focus, he began to sink and needed saving. If in our life we are “focused” on the Savior and doing the things required of us, we too will be able to overcome those challenges in our life that seem just too hard to handle. I love the poem Footprints in the Sand. I love the end when the person is asking the Lord why during their hardest times in life there was only one set of footprints. The Lord answers that it was then that He carried the person through their trials. If we have faith in the Lord, he will be there to help us through all things!
