Friday - Yucatán Peninsula

Today’s excursion was an EARLY excursion. We had to meet our group at 6 am!!! Needless to say, no one ate breakfast. I should have brought the pop tarts from the car onto the boat (you know along with the batteries, deodorant, and makeup) because we knew it would be an early day. Breakfast ended up being Air Heads (that made it onto the boat crazily enough). The overall experience was great! But getting there was crazy. This was not out first cruise... this was not our first excursion... But I have to say this felt like the least organized excursion we’ve ever been on. Again, the overall experience was awesome, but getting there was a fun ride!

Our excursion was to Mayan Ruins and then snorkeling in caves and floating down a “lazy” river. First we were able to walk around Mayan ruins and even climb some if we wanted too. After the Mayan ruins we went to the caves. I can honestly say that I have never had the opportunity to swim in caves with stalagmites and stalactites. It was an amazing experience. After swimming in the caves we had a Mayan lunch. I loved it, the kids not as much. There was also a pool to use until it was time to get back in the bus. It was an amazing experience.
